Amazon has entered the Thanksgiving meal deal competition with an offer priced at $25, undercutting Walmart's $35 offering. The deal, available through November 26 while supplies last, includes an eight-pound Butterball turkey starting at 79 cents per pound, along with ingredients for classic sides such as mac & cheese and pumpkin pie.

Prime members can receive free same-day delivery for the Thanksgiving bundle. This initiative comes as grocery retailers aim to attract customers facing economic pressures from inflation and rising gas prices.

Walmart's Thanksgiving deal, priced at $35, is its lowest ever and can feed 10 people. It includes 26 items, an increase from the previous year, with additions like whipped topping, corn muffin ingredients, and sweet potato casserole components. Amazon's deal features 15 items, and it did not specify how many people its offering can serve. For comparison, Amazon's Thanksgiving meal deal in the previous year could only feed five people.

Despite record-low consumer sentiment, consumer spending has remained robust, though economists note a divergence between higher-income consumers benefiting from stock holdings and lower-income consumers drawing down savings.

Amazon is also promoting other holiday-related deals, including fresh turkeys for 99 cents per pound from November 14 to November 26, Thanksgiving staples under $4 from November 1 to November 26, 40% off charcuterie and party snacks from November 2 to November 14, and 40% off pre-made sides from November 15 to November 26.

Additional promotions include discounts on hosting essentials: 20% off select Hefty plates, utensils, and cups from November 14 to November 19; 20% to 25% off McCormick cooking and baking supplies from November 19 to November 30; and 20% off select Ziploc products from November 26 to November 30 for preparing Thanksgiving leftovers.
